Royals get 2012 All-Star Game In spite of Losing versus Baseball odds

The Kansas City Royals did get some good news on Wednesday as they were awarded the 2012 All-Star game, although they haven’t had much success in MLB betting at the sportsbook over the past couple of decades.

The Royals have not made the playoffs since they won the World Series back in 1985 vs the baseball wagering probabilities.

Kansas City isn’t favored by baseball odds quite often as the squad is generally in last place. Major League Baseball doesn’t have a salary cap and the big money clubs win while the lesser market teams lose. It is a sad circumstance for clubs like Kansas City and Pittsburgh but that is how baseball functions.

The Royals were tossed a bone as they will obtain the 2012 All-Star match. Kauffman Stadium would host the game, declared commissioner Bud Selig. The Royals were pretty much guaranteed the game not too long ago since they made voters in Jackson County approve a sales tax increase to finance enhancements at Kauffman Stadium and Arrowhead Stadium which hosts the Chiefs. Selig also said that the profits from the match will amount to $70 million to Kansas City, and that local charities would benefit by $4 million or more.

Kansas City is losing again this season vs the baseball odds. They’ve got missed the post-season for 24 straight years and they will lose out again this year. Only the Nationals who used to be the Expos have gone longer without making the playoffs. Baseball in Kansas City used to be exciting and the Royals used to be a frequent contender but that was almost 25 years ago. The Kansas City Royals are now regularly excluded from the contest in the American League Central before the All-Star break. That will be the case again this season as the Royals are 1 of the worst clubs in the league against the baseball betting odds.

The Kansas City Royals getting the 2012 All-Star match was a letdown to the Red Sox as they were hoping that Fenway Park would get the game since 2012 will be the 100th anniversary of the stadium. The Red Sox have a huge amount of money though and will continue to win versus baseball betting odds whether or not they get the game or not. A team like Kansas City needs all the aid they can get which is 1 cause Major League Baseball gave them the All-Star Match. And apart from that, Boston had put on the game as recently as 1999, when there was a memorable homage to Ted Williams.

This will be the team’s 2nd All-Star Game, who hosted the 44th match back in 1973, and the 3rd for the city. Kansas City was also home to the 1st of two 1960 All-Star Games, put on by the Athletics at old Municipal Stadium. Selig also noted that All-Star games support clubs sell tickets during the normal season, since season-ticket holders have access to obtain tickets to the Classic.

This year’s All-Star game is timetabled for Anaheim, and the 2011 match will be located in Phoenix.
