Argentina Has Been Quite Extraordinary versus Sportsbook Probabilities
Argentina has been 1 of the most outstanding teams to date versus the World Cup probabilities at the sportsbook.
Many people that looked over sportsbooks online probabilities supposed that Argentina would struggle under their emotional and sometimes not rational head coach Diego Maradona, but to date Argentina has appeared outstanding.
Maradona has demonstrated a lot of emotion in Argentina’s 1st two victories and it appears to be crossing over to his squad. Argentina has two victories and almost certainly will win Group B. They are coming off a 4-1 defeat of South Korea as Lionel Messi made numerous excellent plays while Gonzalo Higuain had the hat trick. Messi is the best soccer player on earth and when he’s on his game Argentina is almost impossible to defeat. He hasn’t played that well in the past for his home team but he looks to be comfortable in this year’s World Cup.
Argentina may have the finest front line of any team in the World Cup with Messi, Carlos Tevez and Higuain. Messi is capable of ripping through opponent defenses and dominating a game while Tevez and Higuain can finish. Messi was not even at his finest versus South Korea and he still produced lots of chances. If these 3 competitors can avoid getting into ego struggles and if Maradona doesn’t do something silly, Argentina could go far in the World Cup. Argentina may not have the greatest defense but to date in 2010′s World Cup there doesn’t look to be plenty of overpowering offensive expertise.
The round of 16 matchup unquestionably looks to be positive for Argentina. If they win Group B as supposed, they would face the second place team from Group A. Mexico or Uruguay would likely be the other team. Neither of those squads is quite formidable. If they faced Mexico it will be an interesting match since Mexico likes to press the action while they might have a more challenging test versus Uruguay who has a formidable defense. France and South Africa however have outside shots but it looks like Mexico and Uruguay that will arise from Group A.
The previous time Argentina moved on to the semifinals was 20 years ago, but they are proving to be quite the powerhouse in the World Cup. Their journey to the World Cup was also less than extraordinary. They opened with three victories but then lost to Colombia and played 4 consecutive draws. In 2008 Maradona took over, when their record was 4 wins, 2 losses and 4 draws. They then acquired an effortless win over Venezuela but then lost to Bolivia 6-1. It was the first time in 50 years they had lost an worldwide game by five goals. Then they lost to Ecuador, Brazil, and Paraguay. Argentina was in serious danger of not qualifying for the World Cup whatsoever after getting themselves in fifth place. They only hardly made it to the World Cup when they were able to beat Peru and Uruguay.
The group stage is still happening but to date, Argentina looks like 1 of the better squads in the 2010 World Cup.
